Off Utah Beach on June 6, 1944 31 ships of the Danish Merchant Navy supported the Allied landings. 70 years later, the Queen of Denmark and the French Minister of the Interior honored the 800 sailors who were aboard. Danish soldiers didn't land on Utah Beach. However, the only French monument that honors Denmark is on the way to the beach, theater D-Day in 1944.

Both laid wreaths at the monument to the dead Danish, before going to the Utah Beach museum to visit an exhibition dedicated to the sailors.
